Vegetarian Burgers


This is a healthy alternative to the classic burger and it tastes so great!

  • 2/3 cup quick cooking (not instant) rolled oats
  • 4 tbsp Garlic King
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1/4 tsp each of salt and pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 4 tsp mustard
  • 1 pkg precooked ground soy protein mixture
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Optional toppings of your choice (tomato, lettuce, cheese)

  1. In large skillet, toast oats over medium-high heat, stirring, until golden brown, about 3 minutes. Transfer to food processor, pulse until coarsely powdered.
  2. In same skillet, heat 2 tbsp of Garlic King, onion, salt and pepper; stirring occasionally, until light golden, about 4 minutes. Transfer to food processor, Add egg and half the mustard; pulse until combined.
  3. Transfer to bowl; stir in ground soy and shape into 4 patties.
  4. In skillet, heat remaining Garlic King (2 tbsp) and cook patties; turning once, until crisp and golden, about 4 minutes per side.
  5. Stir mayonnaise with remaining mustard; spread over buns. Serve garnished with lettuce, tomato and cheese.
